Cornmeal Fritters
  • 2 cups of cold water
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 2 packs of seasoning
  • 1 ½ cups of cornmeal
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese
  • Vegetable oil
  • Flavouring
  1. Mix in a pot water, salt, onion powder, garlic powder and flavoring and heat to the mixture until it boils.
  2. Reduce heat, add cornmeal gradually and stir to prevent lumps from forming. Continue stirring and keep the temperature low.
  3. Take pot from heat, add the cheese and mix well. Let blend cool for a few minutes.
  4. Put a teaspoon of the blend in the palm of your hand. Put on a level surface and form into long sticks. Put corn sticks in a tray, spread with wax paper and put in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  5. Using a deep fryer heat up some oil, fry the corn sticks until golden brown. Drain on paper towel to absorb any additional oil.
